Loudon, TN: We may be tucked away in East Tennessee, but The Village Quilters have some of the most talented quilters in the country. This past October, we showcased the gems we created at our bi-annual show, “Spooling Around”.

While a large number of the Village Quilters’ 300+ members are from Tellico Village and the Loudon and Monroe County areas, our membership also draws from Knoxville to Chattanooga and beyond. Several members are national award winning quilters in their own right.

All of the 175 plus quilts displayed were created by Village Quilters members. Varying greatly in size and style, the quilts ranged from king size to miniature. In addition to bed quilts and wall quilts, members created wearable art, dolls and purses, as well. The main body of work displayed was voted on by the public to determine the Viewers’ Choice Awards. Ribbons were presented to the winners on Sunday.

Chairpersons of this year’s show were Nancy Green and Barb Craig

The Marketplace Boutique, a show favorite, included handmade children’s items, baby quilts, aprons, place mats, kitchen accessories, jewelry, holiday décor, and more. All items for sale were made by members of the guild at their Quilt Show Workshops.
